The Columbus community is mourning the tragic loss of John White, 50, who passed away on March 26, 2026, following a devastating single-vehicle crash on the exit ramp from Interstate 270 North to State Route 161 East in northeast Columbus.
The accident occurred shortly after 6:30 a.m., when a 2024 Ford Maverick, traveling east on SR-161, lost control while navigating the curve from the interstate and collided with a barrier. John, who was driving the vehicle, was rushed to the hospital in critical condition. Despite the efforts of medical personnel, he was pronounced dead at 6:49 a.m.
