The Exeter Township community is mourning the loss of Jennifer M. Rothermel, 43, who passed away on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at The Reading Hospital, surrounded by her loving family and friends. Jennifer’s passing leaves a profound void in the hearts of those who knew her, and she will be remembered for her warmth, humor, and the joy she brought to everyone around her.
Jennifer was the devoted wife of Richard K. Rothermel Jr., with whom she shared eight years of marriage filled with love, laughter, and companionship. Born in Reading, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Pep L. Bohn and is survived by her mother, Patricia A. (Morrison) Bohn. She is also survived by her beloved daughter, Madison, her brother, Christopher A. Bohn of Hagerstown, Maryland, her nieces Mara, Sarahlynn, Katy, and Faith, and her nephew Logan. Jennifer’s close friends, Sherri and Steve Berry, were like family to her and shared countless memories of friendship and support.
Jennifer had a passion for life and a wide variety of interests that brought her joy and connected her to others. A devoted sports fan, she loved cheering on the Seattle Seahawks. Her love of games extended to more than sports—she spent over twenty years playing in her Dart League, honing her skills and enjoying the camaraderie of friendly competition. Music was another central part of her life, and she loved exploring all genres and participating in music trivia, where her knowledge and enthusiasm always stood out. Jennifer was also a movie lover, particularly enjoying horror films, which were among her favorites.
Jennifer’s life was defined by the love and care she showed to her family, friends, and community. She had a way of making people feel valued, whether through her laughter, her thoughtful gestures, or simply her presence. Her generosity, kindness, and spirit touched everyone she met, leaving a lasting impression that will not be forgotten.
A Celebration of Jennifer’s Life will be held on Monday, March 30, 2026, at 12:00 PM at Bean Funeral Home, 6 Fairlane Road, Reading, PA 19606, with the family receiving friends and guests from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Jennifer’s memory may be made to The Animal Rescue League of Berks County, honoring her love for animals and her compassionate heart.
